Happy new week my good people, My name is Maureen and I am obsessed with stripes....I seriously cannot keep my hands off. I have blogged about these pants before here and this time round I decided to combine it with neon accents. A simple luminous green blouse seemed to be my perfect choice...then I added little pops of neon pink with the earrings and the heart shaped purse Finished it off with these cobalt blue platforms with the matching bib necklace and my lovely animal print geeks and a red bold lip. What do you think of my outfit....drop me a line below!

The days that fashion overwhelms me and I find myself trying stuff that are out of my comfort zone....but then it would never be fashion wouldn't it?. It was quite a dull cold day so I decided to do a lil' bit of layering with little gothic accents I L.O.V.E houndstooth print and been on a hunt for a skirt or short for a while and when I got it, I could not wait to style it. I went all retro with the black sweater and tucked it in since its super big. I complemented the look with a plum rich tone and added gold accessories. You never go wrong with red with black and white prints....so I added a crimson belt then finished if off with black leggings. This shoes are so vavavum....I do not know what to call them but they are a cross breed of platforms with maryjanes. But I sure loved the polka dots.....Oh and they are super comfortable....they are so weird I could't help loving 'em and I thought they really complemented the hounds tooth print. I kept the rest of my accessories minimal... CLOSET:

Happy easter dolls! Quite a long weekend it was and i loved everybit of it especially since I had to be with family....and actually had the chance to meet my great aunts, uncles, cousins.....t'was awesome. Since it was such an event, I went for a subtle yet respectable look and hence dorned this Kitenge print tuxedo jacket from my designs. I paired it up with these knife-pleated pallazo pants and my cropped white button up shirt. I accesorised the shirt with a vintage sun shaped brooch, added no more jewellery since the african is busy. I finished the look with peach pumps and a matching belt. The sunglasses,, i totally love especially coz of the round structure and cat eyed edges. The animal print detail on the inside of the shoe is adorbs. Since I am always on a style prowl with my camera, I had to capture these looks below; My lil' sister was looking all adorable in this batik bubble dress she designed for herself with black suede platforms. My gorge cousin killed it with this polka dot blue and white dress, a red bold lip, yellow purse and gold flat peeptoes. She looked like she stepped out of a 70's movie scene. Finally my baby sister in a grey frock, black tights and gladiator sandals CLOSET:

Cheers, ChezMaureen! I don't do preppy looks often but this time I decided to go all out and incorporate a bow tie and colored geeks. This was my Saturday wear for a friend's event and I totally love the pin striped white and blue blazer. The weather was a ishy with the sun getting hot and dull at the same time so it was a struggle to find the perfect lighting for the pictures I did a lil' bit color blocking with the crazy green button up shirt, green shorts and hot pink pointy pumps I balanced the craziness with a black patent purse CLOSET:

Cheers, ChezMaureen 2013 is all about bold patterns and the printed pants do not fall off the radar......I liked this floral pair but had quite some challenge getting the best blouse to go with it. I went for solid colors to balance off the noisy print......the pants are high waisted, so i did a white hi- lo button up shirt My accessories were very few.....a pearl DIY neck piece and a cobalt blue bib neckace then finished it off with patent black sling backs CLOSET:

Hallo hallo y'all.... well today is my birthday and can't believe how the year has ran out so fast. Wow and a year older, and as am aging i notice my style is too getting more refined and am doing lots of growing sexy outfits. If only i had a blog years ago, you'd see why. But, am liking it as i still try to incorporate my evolving style into it. I came across this denim skirt in my thrifting escapades and was so drawn to it. It was once size bigger and i got my tailor to resize it to my specifications. I wanted high waist and fitting but not tight and this is the end result. I loved the button detail and wrap effect of the skirt paired it up with white ruffled blouse and my all time favorite cobalt blue platforms. I added the multi- colored oversized purse and colored blocked earrings to add some oomph and color to the outfit
Sup' dolls, i believe you are having a superb week. Yesterday i went for the K.U culture week opening and this is what i wore I am still a huge fan of nautical stripes as they tend to elongate my torso when worn as a shirt or blouse, so i got two of these sometime last week. I went for the button up shirt look and tucked into the chinos What i loved the most about this shirt is the lace detail at the back...i find it so demure I rolled up the chinos and wore this woven yellow peep toes from Belluci I accessorised the shirt with a golden statement bib necklace, then added the red skinny belt for the final touch of the chinos. Then added the floral print inspired purse and i was ready for a sunny summer day out.
